Windows 7 Build Updates카테고리 없음 2020. 3. 18. 20:58
.Updated.Updating Windows 7 is highly recommended for protecting against the threat of WannaCry, WannaCrypt, Spectre, Meltdown, and Uiwix in Windows 7.March 2018: Microsoft has implemented an update restriction that requires users to install antivirus software that is compatible with patches for Spectre and Meltdown to receive updates in Windows 7. Users that have antivirus solutions that do not meet this compatibility requirement will likely encounter ‘blue screen’ errors.
This can be alleviated for users without an antivirus solution by installing Microsoft Security Essentials, or by installing a registry key that would be created by antivirus solutions to pass the check by Windows Update.Like Windows XP before it, Windows 7 has proven to be a reliable and steadfast platform with many users reluctant to upgrade to newer versions., web traffic statistics site, although Windows 10 is on the rise. However, Windows Update issues have frequently plagued Windows 7 over the last year, and this has been particularly troublesome for fresh Windows installs. In this blog post, I will examine this problem and offer some solutions.BackgroundMainstream support for Windows 7 has ended, but. Hoping to simplify the update process on a fresh install, in May 2016 Microsoft released what has been dubbed the “,” encapsulating many Windows 7 updates that came after the release of Service Pack 1. Thank you for a very helpful post, it worked for me, I really needed those extra files, and the stop windows update tip. Win 7 updated with the rollup, but stalled on updating further after everything was done, ( yes I left it running for a couple of hours) so I left it overnight, and today it updated on it’s own. I chose to manually install only the important updates.I might recommend not trying to update right away, and get on with reloading your programs etc.
Seems like a waste of time if Win needs a date change or something to proceed with the rest of the files, which I’m guessing are mostly security updates.I noticed MS Essentials did the same thing, could not update definitions after install, and on its on updated later.Yes, I created an image so this will never happen to me again!!Many thanks for solving a huge issue and in the end it was easy and very straightforward!.Robert F Ryan. I remember when I did a fresh install of Windows 7sp1 on my Dell precision m6400 and I was having that problem where windows update would just stay on checking for updates forever and not do anything. So I found that temporarily disabling the Windows firewall fixed the problem and then windows update found like 220 updates that it downloaded and installed.
Guess with that many updates, Microsoft could’ve made a Service Pack 2. At least windows 7 runs beautifully in my laptop. I tried windows10, but the Bluetooth and scrolling features of the touchpad don’t work.
This usually happens when who ever made your laptop never bothered to update the drivers to work with Windows 10. Scrolling features for the touch pad can (usually) be fixed by reinstalling the Touchpad driver from the manufacturer’s website, (even if they were made for only an older version of Windows, especially because there is usually on one laptop touchpad Manufacturer, Synaptic). As for bluetooth, that’s a little more iffy but getting it working could also rely on reinstalling the drivers.Hope this helps!. I wrote a comment at the end of this thread (dated ), but also wanted to thank you more personally for leaving your comment! After already having spent several days and LOTS of hours trying to fix my Windows Updates errors with absolutely no success, I found this site. After reading thru all of the steps, I was so discouraged and thought I would rather just get a new computer than spend even more time on this issue (my computer is on the older side anyway, so I’m due as soon as I can afford it). Before leaving the site though, I started reading thru the comments and came across yours!!!
I quickly bookmarked this site and did exactly as you suggested – turned off my firewall!!! And sure enough, UPDATES WORKED IMMEDIATELY!!! I am SO thankful you took time to leave your comment, Mr Jones!!! And I am thrilled that I don’t have to waste any more time on this whole thing!!! Greatly appreciate your help!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!.Austin.
100% agree with everything you and others have said in their posts. I too was frustrated with trying every possible fix I could find – all to no avail. Each time one failed I would do another fresh install of windows (Just to make sure I didn’t copy over some junk or something that may cause problems later on). Then I came across this page but, honestly, I didn’t have a lot of faith anything would be fixed. So I followed every step as described. I am beyond thrilled and so happy to report that windows is updating on its own.I too am saving this link for future reference.
I created a yahoo email account and whenever I find info like this I email the links to myself. That way – no matter what computer I am using I can still access the links I need from my yahoo account no matter where I am. I can see that this page is going to get used quite a lot.Thank you so very very much for this easy to follow resolution.
You are my HERO!.Big thanks. I should add that I did have to run the “Windows Update Diagnostic” (from Microsoft) before and after each installation recommended here. For some reason, whenever I tried to install an update, errors were created in the registry, etc. But the “Windows Update Diagnostic” repaired these errors, and thus allowed the updates recommended here to install properly.
The combination of the the two updates recommended here, and the “Windows Update Diagnostic” finally allowed me to run the normal automatic Windows Update. I hope this helps others. I have this same problem win 7 SP 1 would not install don’t matter what I do. I spend over 40 hours on this one problem trying all the fix that I could find on the internet and Microsoft website. Nothing work’s.
So I back-up my files and did a clean reset. Then I went for win update it did all of the update with no problem but when it get to SP 1 problem start all over again. So this what work’s for me I reset my computer again only this time I change the way that I do business I change auto Update to manual update. I have it go and look for updates and let me chose how to install it. Then I went check for updates and when it finish I went and look at what it find. But I still did not find SP 1 so I check for updates again until I could identified SP1 in the update. Once I could identified SP1 I unchecked all other update and only check SP1 and chose update. That did it for me.then I went and turn on auto update and then everything fall into place with no error.Justin.
This also worked for me but after I turned updates back on and did some additional updates kb2598845 failed, I hadn’t noticed that it failed and later tried some additional updates that showed up and some of them are failing as well. I was going to try the last process in this article to stop the windows update service, run the microsoft fixit tool for windows update issues and then install the latest version of the windows update agent. However when I try to download the fixit tool it first said that link doesn’t exist or something like that. I have tried again and it just goes to a microsoft community help page but there is no download for the fixit tool.Andy D.
I am sorry to hear that you encountered even more problems when going through these steps. I hope that things were working better after installing a second time. I can’t reasonably promise the steps will work in every case, but I wanted to share my experience with getting Windows 7 to update correctly after having issues with it myself on a test system I use here at Plugable.
Update Windows 7 Free
I know the update experience is a bit frustrating, and a result like that certainly doesn’t help.Claude Jaquemet. Unfortunately I don’t know. I primarily work with our Bluetooth products and Microsoft didn’t put Bluetooth in their Windows Server operating systems, so I don’t really have a reason to work with it much.
However, many of the updates listed here are for Windows 7 and Server 2008, rather than Server 2012. If anything, I would expect that steps that resolve issues with Windows 8 might be applicable to Server 2012, but I haven’t personally had to deal with update issues on those platforms.Jim McArdle. Thank you so much for your wonderful advice and description on how to fix the update problem on W7.
I have tried and tried so many “fixes” and nothing worked; only you’re well detailed and to the point instructions got the windows update program running perfectly! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all of your effort and attention to detail you have put forth in your instructions. Thank you so much h for sharing this with all of us. THANK YOU SO MUCH a HUNDRED TIMES OVER!Joe in Minnesota.David.
Guys, Mine would also get stuck at ” searching for updates ” if it does that.Restart your computer,Upon restart. Turn off all firewalls.
Including Windows Defender. Also turn off all unnecessary programs. I only had the internet and Speakers on.( restart computer again )Then double check that Windows Defender and all your firewalls are turned off and any other startup program.Find the file in your folders and then right click it and run it again. It should start installing after 1-2 minutes at most.Once it is installed, Restart your ComputerDownload the next file. Once the next file is downloadedDouble check that all your firewalls continue to be turned completely off.( Mine turned back on after one update, or i forgot to completely turn it off )Repeat the process again.First make sure all firewalls and startup programs are turned off, Download file, then Run it from the file on your PC. That should let it install. If it hangs up again, Just repeat the process of Completely shutting off Firewalls and startup programs you don’t need, and then running the file again.Worked for me.Janosch. You people are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! I have been working on my Windows Update on and off for months nowthe sleepless nights, the frustration, the aggravation, etc.
Your detailed instructions are the ONLY solution that fixed my Windows 7 update problem. None of this BS about turning off firewalls and antivirus, etc, etc. It took about three hours and I am now the happiest camper around! Everything is working just the way it’s supposed to. A big thumbs UP for Plugable Technologies! Thank you!.Isaac.
Windows 7 Build Updates 2017
Your best bet is likely to search for solutions to your specific error code (0x80070057). I would recommend sticking to Microsoft TechNet threads for solutions rather than sites offering tools to resolve the error. Our guide primarily tackles problems that arise with Windows 7 updates that occur during a normal installation and update cycle. Other issues with Windows Updates that are the result of other actions or software changes may not be resolved by these steps. I wish you the best of luck in finding a solution to the error code you encountered. If you find a good solution to it, consider coming back and leaving a comment to let others know how you resolved it.Bob.
Mike Thommes, Turning off firewalls is not BS.The reason you should do so as a step is because some firewalls run Self updates regularly and if it does so, then it will interfere with other updates. As well as any other program that runs self update, they should all be turned off to prevent them from trying to self update during your installing of these files. What did not work for you may work for others, so refrain from calling it BS, as it cold really help someone out.So Anyone out there, Turn off your firewalls and all other Startup programs that have self update options, as they may interfere with the installation process of these files and may cause the same issues as Windows update, where they just tend to hang up and don’t install anything.John Mosher. Thanks so much Andy D.
This saved me from getting Dell involved on a brand new Win 7 laptop purchased for a new hire. Your instructions are thorough and easy to understand. It’s very disappointing that Dell couldn’t/wouldn’t make sure this thing ran correctly out of the box and even more disappointing is the fact that Microsoft would make it so difficult to obtain updates for an operating system they still make available. Dell should have packed these instructions in the box! Thanks again!.Deepak. I just installed W7 pro on a computer; this is second install this week. On fresh install windows update scanned away but no results, I left the computer run all night but nothing in the morning.
I used your advice, and followed your steps to the T; the updates took off in six minutes after boot up. I spent a bunch of money on Christmas gifts for relatives and friends, I should have sent you the cash instead, as you gave me the best Christmas present of all!
I Wish Microsoft would have such a fix it page so you won’t have to spend your time mopping up the mess. Again, I thank you sincerely,Joe in Minnesota.Joe Nechanicky. I’m glad the guide was helpful! As for a Vista guide. I don’t really have a plan to make one. This guide mostly came about because of issues I had encountered from installing Windows 7 on my test system here at our offices. My first install of Windows 7 got stuck on the updating process, and I tried all kinds of things to fix it before deciding that maybe in all my troubleshooting I had just broken things even more. Then I installed the OS again and the same thing happened. Once I nailed down a process to get everything working, I determined what wasn’t necessary in the steps I had taken in order to make a guide for it.
I figured other people would definitely run into the same issue given that the problem came up every single time I tried to install Windows 7.We don’t see many Windows Vista issues these days (thankfully), and we have a system already configured with it for troubleshooting, so I haven’t had to install it. While Windows 7 still has extended support into 2020, Vista’s extended support ends April 11th, 2017. Given that there won’t be patches for Vista in the very near future, I would really recommend upgrading to a newer version of Windows as soon as possible.britfrog.
Hi I’d appreciate it if anyone could advise me on what to do. I have a brand new laptop with Windows 7 service pack 1 64 bit which I bought before retailers stopped selling them. I keep getting messages that there’s updates but it never updates, just keeps searching even after letting it run all night which someone said I should try. I read your step by step instructions & all the comments but I’m a bit confused, is this fix if you’re installing Windows 7? I’m a senior & although I feel I can do a lot more than most tutorials that assume I need to learn how to log on or search the web, I’m nervous about trying this as I don’t want to do anything to ruin my new computer. I love Windows 7 & had been using Vista for the last 7 years but my old laptop is not going to last much longer. I know I may be behind the times but 7 was perfect for me as it’s just like Vista but better.
I actually bought a laptop with Windows 10 to have the newest operating system & sent it back a week later as I just hated it. I know eventually I’ll have to upgrade as Windows won’t support 7 anymore, but until then I want to enjoy this new laptop & of course want it to have the updates needed. I also love Works 9 which all my documents are on which of course also has been discontinued, so someone suggested I try Abi Word as Word is too detailed for my needs. When I downloaded Abi Word I got a message that said it needed to check Microsoft or something & that was the one & only time updates came through, a ton of them. After much searching I was able to finally find an unopened Microsoft Works 9 for sale & download it successfully which I had doubts about from all the blogs I read, & now am a happy camper with my new laptop, except for the updates. Sorry this is so long but like all the messages here, I’m at my wits end & want to give as much information as I can. Thank you in advance as I’m sure you can offer some easy help for this senior from all the great comments received here.Kathy.Andy D.
The steps are geared primarily toward new installations of Windows 7 since the solution gives reproducible positive results in that situation. The steps have worked for others with Windows 7 installations that have been in use for a while as well. So you should be okay to use them with your computer.
Though I would note that any time you’re making major changes to your computer, it is recommended to make a backup of your data just in case. With existing installs, there’s a greater likelihood that update issues could be created by other issues. For example, it could be a malware problem, a network configuration issue (including Windows Firewall), or other factors. Since a new install is less likely to have any of those problems, but definitely has problems with updating, these steps assume a new install without those other issues being present to fix the Windows components that prevent updating without factoring in other issues. Typically, if all else fails, starting over with a new Windows 7 installation and going through these steps will get things back to a good state if other problems are present.fabio. I bought a refurbished computer; good value, no problems with the purchase. The computer has W7 pro on it and was last updated June of 2016, according to the updates.I wanted to update and be current.
I tried for three days and several different ways leaving the computer run, trying this and that, hoping to get more updates but nothing happened. Right after I got the computer I installed office 2007 on it, so I knew there were more updates just for that. The computer just sat and ran and ran and ran, I just watched the green bar go across, nothing ever happened. Ok I gave it a chance but it didn’t do anything, even with the repair tool anything. So I followed your steps and after I got to the end, I ran the updater for five minutes and had 32 updates. That’s just the first round. This is the third computer in the last three weeks that I followed your instructions on and all three came out with the updater working like a charm!(This was the first computer that was not a fresh install)So I just want to say a big THANK YOU again. If I were you I would go on GO FUND ME for your fine work, you deserve a million dollars.
All the junk on line about windows updates and nothing fixes anything, but your plan did, time and time again. You are a real scientist! You showed em all who is boss!Joe in Minnesota.Sheldon Bidwell. FOR PRESIDENT!!
Yup, worked for me win7 sp1 x86, but with one caveat, at least on my mobo intel d875pbz with P4 EE sl7ch, After applying the first kb update and doing a restart, the second kb was stuck on ‘searching your computer for updates’ or something like that, endless scroll bar, never gets anywhere. I tried another restart – nope, then tried a complete shutdown and cold reboot and that worked! Then on the next kb, same stuck problem again, full shutdown and cold restart worked again. Did the rest of the kb’s by doing the same routine, then win update was working again yay!! and normal hot restarts were working normally. Thanks for the thread guys – lifesaver!! I am still having trouble. I purchased a refurbished HP Elitebook with Windows 7 because I my experience with Windows 10 has not been good.
I did a reinstall of Win 7 with SP1 and am at the very beginning. I tried to do it your way and got in trouble with Step 4 KB3125574. At first, it said that the version of Internet Explorer was too old (It was 8), so I upgraded it to Explorer 11. Then the download was getting interrupted, but I finally got it downloaded.
Now I am getting “Installer encountered an error: 0x8007000d. The data is invalid” What do I do?.Andy D. I restored Windows 7 from a 9/2015 system image and experienced the (apparently) endless spinning from Windows Update. Was going to use this method, but tried letting Windows Update run overnight, probably about 10 hours. In the morning, it was still spinning so I turned off the automatic update feature and went to restart to begin the fix from this article, and it automatically installed 85 updates during shutdown.
After that, Windows Update worked properly. Perhaps it’s just an EXTREME amount of patience that’s required, and the two hour wait reported by Paul Thurrott must be extended out much further.
I wonder if I had left it for another 24 hours if it would have come up with a selection of updates on its own.justin. Thank you for piecing this article together. I’m not too worried if Windows isn’t entirely up to date (it’s not nearly as dangerous as people will have you believe, unless you deliberately expose your computer in sketchy sites). But there are limits to how many security updates it’s safe to skip.I will however add this note: If you use your computer to play games, allowing WU to automatically install updates isn’t recommended.
It doesn’t respect full-screen programs, so you won’t get the warning when it needs to restart, which in turn means it forcefully shuts down the games which result in data loss and file corruption. And a lot of games cannot be recovered from a corrupted state. Since it doesn’t respect full-screen programs, you also run into massive lag because it’s installing updates while you’re running a game that needs every bit of processing power your computer has.I haven’t been able to update either of my Win 7 machines since November 2017. I deliberately didn’t update for a long time to avoid the malware which forcefully (and illegally) installed Win 10 on everyone’s computers, but after MS finally gave up forcing the junk after it stopped being free, updating Windows 7 was impossible. When you go through the MS guidelines for getting Windows Update to work, they skip over the fact that A. You need to disable windows update to install updates manually, B.
Their methods don’t update the actual WU client, and C. Don’t update the networking components used by WU.After 30+ years with computers, and dealing with every version of Windows since ver. 3.0, I find that MS always finds a way to break our installations so we have to spend hours fixing them, because they never can figure out themselves what it is they break. When you talk to MS support and they go “I don’t understand why that didn’t work”, you know you’re in for a tough job getting things working again. This guide is perfect, has been so long since I tried to install win7 thank you so much. I will say this. Do the optional stuff before anything else.
Followed A to Z including optional and on the final restart and update windows proposed 140 updates after 20 mins of searching. After doing the 69 “essential” updates it gave me another 20 essential updates.
Stick to what is proposed and be steadfast. Or just say to your other half/friend/family member “DEAR GOD STOP CLICKING RANDOM STUFF ON FACEBOOK/TWITTER”.Joe H. Soooooooo, after spending literally DAYS searching for and trying every possible solution out there for the Windows Updates errors (specifically 80072EE2 and 0x80070057 and 0x80070652) absolutely NOTHING worked! THEN, I found this site after reading thru everything, it was way overwhelming as I thought all of this would take me at least another month to accomplish with all the steps, restarts, and more steps, so I read thru the comments instead and came across William Jones’ comment from where he simply shuts down his Windows Firewall and – as he says – “the rest is history”!!!! THANK YOU MR JONES!!! A MUCH better suggestion AND far less time-consuming solution than going thru everything suggested here!!! Temporarily shutting down the firewall resulted in some 200 updates that are now successfully installed on my computer; my only regret was that I hadn’t thought of it myself, or read it long before I wasted hours and days of my life on this mess!!!
Thanks again, Mr Jones!!! Feeling pretty stoked that I didn’t have to try all that’s suggested here to get the needed updates!!!.Steph W.
Thanks for posting this! It really helped me out, twice now.
I originally bought a Win 7 Pro that after installation all I got was a black screen. I had a Win 7 Home Premium disk that would install but the keys were used up, so what I did since the Win 7 Pro wouldn’t install was I installed the Win 7 Home (you don’t have to put the product key in, you have 30 days) and then used Windows Upgrade to install Win 7 Pro. After that was finished, I installed all of your updates here and everything worked perfectly. On my second install, I’m using a VM on top of a Fedora Hypervisor and it just finished installing and it works as exactly as it should. Can’t thank you enough for posting this set of update instructions!.Graham. This worked fantastic on my windows 7 system which had been originally installed in 2014 but with constant windows update issues since install. I even found that SP1 was missing!
So went methodically through all the steps listed above ensuring to RESTART between each step as that is when the update gets installed.Last update as at 9 April17 = March, 2017 Security Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 based Systems KB4012215. This was the last update I installed manually following the above instructions.Great peace of mind to know that W7 now all up to datethat said i had no known security issues in that time.kisses microsoft security essentials? Many thanks to this website.Microsoft should hang their heads in shame. Hello Chris, sorry to hear about the frustrations encountered with the Service Pack page. The primary thing is to determine if you need the x64 or x86 executable. Before proceeding, be sure to determine whether your computer has 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) Windows, and whether Service Pack 1 (SP1) is installed.1. Open System by clicking the Start button, right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties2. Under the System section, you can view the system type. Additionally, the Windows Edition information will tell you whether Service Pack 1 is installedOnce this is determined and you’re ready to download, you just need to scroll to the bottom of the list presented by the Service Pack download page to find and select the appropriate exe file.Once the box is checked, just choose the “next” button and your download should start.
I hope this helps!.Informer.
